Cyborg/Android Model

I finished up a few paintings lately so I got the time to work on my Ghost in The Shell inspired cyborg model.

Took a long while to render and edit all this together.
First time using after effects to actually add effetcs into my videos.
Pretty interesting learning myself how to get those rotating green graphics into the scene.

John 5 Painting

I had an itch to paint John 5 and this is the result of that itch.

I wanted to give myself a new challenge when I started painting this and so I gave myself a time limit to paint it.  This painting took me about 4 hours overall to complete and a second look over the following day to add a few final touches ect.

There's a funny story to go with this piece. I never intended to make the splashes on this painting but while I was painting my dog decided to stand all over my wacom tablet and afterwards I started painting again and realized she somehow picked a brush I didn't know I had and I ended up with a few splashes all over the painting.
I thought it looked interesting and decided to keep the "mistake" on a seperate layer and then eventually go all the way with the idea.
Happy accidents are still alive and kicking :)

Below is a look at how this painting came together.

Kept the brushwork loose and slightly messy almost like a charcoal piece

Snowfall (Geisha)

Been working on this painting for a while, jumping back and forth from different projects.

But got the time to work on it and get it finished.
This painting went through a lot of changes but I got it to where I am happy with it.
I was a little torn between 2 ideas for this.

Above are few work in progress images. The initial sketches showed the idea of her walking through a street in Gion but after painting in a rough idea of the colors I wasnt really happy with it and so I decided to go with the mysterious setting instead :)

Katana (Suicide Squad) painting

Did a quick study painting of Katana from the Suicide Squad.
Half way through I thought I would try a little experiment and so I painted each hair strand seperatley on different layers to animate it for a fun little gif later on.

Blackened Eyes
The eyeballs were painted on a seperate layers too to be able to paint in the black eye transformation later on. I plan on creating a few animated gifs sometime in the future with some sort of story for it. So this was just a little test run for that.

Decided to work on something a little more complex in Maya.

Inspired by Ghost in the Shell I decided to make an robot with sections/panels around the face (and body) which some parts will open up and close revealing some robotic insides.

The one below been a military crate.

This is a very Low Poly model of 390 polygons. Was moddeled and rigged to open up so there is also a few little details inside the crate itself.

Victoria Everglot Model

A digital model of Victoria Everglot from the movie "A Corpse Bride"
I may model the full body, for now im concentrating on the face.
Currently in the process of creating a rig for facial animation. stay tuned for a video when its done :)

Making a start on the face rig for Victoria. I made the controllers first to avoid running into any problems along the way and also the controllers act as a visual check list for all the needed morph targets.

Chihiro

The process of creating a video game character version of Chihiro from Spirited Away, Definatly one of my favorite Ghibli movies.  Would like to do more characters from movie but will wait n see.
Character sheets created to model Chihiro
I looked through the movie ALOT and took plenty of screenshots of anything and everything that I figured would help me create the character sheet more accuratley and for any future references I may need when I model and texture this character.
Working out the head shape
Clothes and body now and then refine the face a little bit
more near the end
Some hands needed now and a few extra lil details.
Inner and outer Rig of Chihiro model, still more to do, almost there :)
Those aren't Hoola Hoops around her although the pose suggests otherwise, They are controllers to help with the animation. Will have a video soon of the rig itself in motion :)
UVW Unwrap Complete, Time to paint away :)
